  • Spring Breakers are seeking fun in Florida. Orlando, FortLauderdale, Miami, and Tampa are among the top 10 most popular domestic SpringBreak destinations partly due its beaches and warm weather.
  • Ocean cruising continues to set records. More than 21.7 million Americans expected to take a cruise trip this year, and many families book cruises over Spring Break to get the most out of the week. Caribbean itineraries departing from Florida, PuertoRico, and the Bahamas are the most popular.

Because travel is a personal choice where safety is a priority, AAA Travel Advisors are ready to support travelers with pre-trip questions, navigating changes, and offering assistance with cancellations or suggesting alternative destinations.

  • Before departing for your trip, enroll in the State Department’s STEP (Safe TravelerEnrollment Program) which allows the U.S. to know where you’re going and send you security updates during your stay.
  • Geo-political issues may cause cruise itineraries to change at the last minute, so it’s important to remain flexible.
  • Consider travel insurance before an international trip. Work with a trusted travel advisor who can walk you through policy details and answer questions about what is and isn’t included in case of an emergency.
  • During your trip, always remain vigilant and monitor updates from local media and the U.S. Embassy. Social media is a great way to stay connected and watch for urgent alerts.
  • Make sure your vehicle is road trip ready if planning to drive to a destination. Visiting a trusted mechanic before a trip for a full vehicle inspection can save you the stress of a breakdown.
