Tips for Traveling and Staying in a Hotel with Your Pet 

There’s nothing like making travel memories with your friends, family, and pets. But traveling and staying in a hotel with your furry friends in tow requires some extra planning and prep to help ensure your trip goes smoothly. 

Here are our top five tips for traveling with your pet:

  1. Pack the essentials. Don’t forget to bring along your pet’s food, water bowl, treats, and any medications, along with a leash and waste bags for dogs and a litter box for cats.
  2. Bring along the comforts of home. Help your loyal companion ease into their new surroundings by packing a familiar pet bed, blanket, and toys.
  3. Seek out local parks. After booking your stay, do a quick online search to find nearby parks and/or dog parks for walks and ample outdoor time.
  4. Get road trip ready. If you’re arriving by car, be sure to outfit your vehicle with safety items, including a seat pad and seat belt harness. You could also consider adding an AirTag to your pet’s collar in case they get loose.
  5. Scout out local veterinarians or animal hospitals. Be ready in case of an emergency and don’t forget to bring a copy of your pet’s vaccination records.
