Give emergency vehicles more space.
Road safety is everyone’s business.
Traffic—it’s getting worse each and every day, as is unsafe driving. Speeding, along with impaired and distracted driving, are both causing significant increases in traffic collisions, injuries, and fatalities.
All of which makes it very difficult for all of us here at AAA—and all first responders and roadside workers on our highways and roadways—to do our jobs safely.
When you see us on the side of the road. When you see any emergency vehicle stopped with flashing lights. Please slow down and, if safe to do so, move over a lane and away from us.
It’s the right and safe thing to do—for you, and for us. Plus, it’s the law.
Staying alert helps save lives.
At AAA, we’re in the business of helping our Members when they need it most—stranded on the sides of the roads with car trouble. This can be dangerous work for our drivers.
So please help by staying alert to all situations where our AAA roadside vehicles and technicians—and any emergency vehicles and/or roadside workers—are working. By giving them distance, you’ll be helping to improve highway and road safety for everyone.
Thank you.
