#AAAProud: Sergio Avila
Meet Sergio Avila. His commitment to representing the AAA brand and passion for ensuring Hispanic/Latino(a) colleagues have a voice is remarkable. He's #AAAProud to work for an organization that supports both its employees and the community.
What makes you proud to work at AAA?
I’m proud to work for an organization that’s so well respected across the country. Whenever I tell someone I work for AAA, they dig into their purse or wallet to show me their membership card and brag about how long they’ve been a AAA Member. It’s truly an organization that people love to be a part of and one that does a lot for its employees and the community.
What made you decide to work at AAA?
It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. My wife told me about an opening on the public relations team at her company (AAA). I was ecstatic the day I received a job offer. Taking the job was a great decision because I’ve met so many amazing people through my work who I now consider friends.
As Unidos BRG Co-Chair, what should Team Members and others know about BRGs?
The focus of Unidos is representing the Hispanic/Latino(a) community within and outside our organization. Through the BRG we’ve been able to support local communities through events such as school supply drives and donations to food banks. We’ve also given Team Members opportunities to join career development workshops to ensure Hispanic/Latino(a) colleagues have the tools to help them grow professionally. BRGs are an invaluable resource for everyone at MWG!
What is your proudest moment related to the Unidos BRG?
With the help of our Unidos leadership team, we’ve built this amazing community at MWG. We’ve been able to connect people who don’t interact on a daily basis, with other like-minded folks who share a passion for ensuring the Hispanic/Latino(a) community has a voice.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
In high school, I won multiple video game tournaments at a local arcade, playing games like Tekken and Mortal Kombat. I still play video games to this day on my PS4 and Google Stadia.
