What DMV services does AAA offer in Alaska?

AAA DMV services in Alaska include:

  • Registration renewal
  • Replacement registration stickers
  • Duplicate registration certificates
  • Transfer of ownership (can only transfer vehicles that are acquired from a private party)
  • Temporary operating permits

  • Out-of-state title transfers to Alaska for most automobiles and light commercial vehicles

Which DMV services are not available at Alaska AAA branches?

The AAA Anchorage Branch does not offer every DMV service, including (but not limited to):

  • Out-of-country vehicle (gray market) conversion
  • Driver history report printouts

How to Schedule a DMV Appointment at AAA Branches

To schedule a DMV appointment at your local AAA branch:

  1. Find your AAA branch.
  2. Click on the branch location you’d like to visit to display its page.
  3. Click on the red “Schedule an Appointment” button.
  4. A form will appear. Enter your name and phone number, then press “Continue.”
  5. A list of available services will pop up. Choose “DMV.”
  6. A list of DMV services available at your branch will appear. Choose one and then click on “Schedule an Appointment.”
  7. Choose your preferred appointment date and time from the available options.

For your convenience, many AAA branches offer extended hours and are open on Saturday.


What do I need to complete my DMV tasks at AAA?

When visiting AAA for DMV services, bring the following documents:

  • Your valid driver’s license, government-issued identification card, or DMV ID card;
  • Your Utah DMV paperwork. For vehicle-specific transactions, your name must be on the vehicle title or registration paperwork, and all parties involved must be AAA Members (unless otherwise noted);
  • A form of payment. AAA accepts most major credit and debit cards, as well as eChecks.* Cash not accepted.

How to Schedule a DMV Appointment at AAA Branches

To schedule a DMV appointment at your local AAA branch:

  1. Click on the Anchorage branch location to display its page.

Alaska DMV payment options and processing fees

For in-person DMV services, AAA accepts eCheck, debit, credit, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. We do not charge a fee for the use of credit cards. AAA does not accept cash. Non-Members pay a $20 convenience fee for over-the-counter DMV services.
