How to Replace the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector Battery


Tools required: 

  • (1) CR123A battery

Pre-Replacement Instructions: 

Before removing the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector from the base plate, please contact Technical Support at 800-669-7779 to request the detector be put in test mode. This will help avoid false alarms sent to the Monitoring Center.

Note: Your Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector will beep and a low battery notification will be displayed on your AAA Smart Home Control Panel when your battery is running low.


Steps:

1. Locate the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector . 

2. Twist the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector counterclockwise from the base plate.

3. Remove the old battery from the detector.

4. Insert the new battery into the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector after two minutes have elapsed. After 2 minutes, place the new battery in the detector. You will hear the detector beep once. Place the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector back onto the base plate by turning clockwise.

5. Test the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector. Before you begin testing, make sure the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector is still in test mode. 

6. On the front side of the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector, locate the button then press and hold it down for 15 seconds until the detector starts beeping.

7.  Release the button once the Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector starts beeping. You will then hear a siren alarm go off. Disarm the system as you normally would.

8. Confirm the test signal by contacting Technical Support at 800-669-7779.

9. Return to your control panel and verify that the "low battery" status has been cleared.

10. Clear the “low battery” status from your control panel by tapping the Envelope icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Then tap “Alerts & Alarms,” tap “Acknowledge All,” then tap “‘OK.”
