AAA Identity Champion Members


What does this mean?

As a AAA Member, your identity theft protection benefits will be provided by ProtectMyID.

If you were enrolled in AAA Identity Champion, you will automatically receive access to ProtectMyID services. Please look out for a welcome email , which we’ll send once the transition of your account from AAA Identity Champion to ProtectMyID is complete. The first time you log in to your ProtectMyID account, you will need to use the login information for your AAA Membership account before going through the password reset steps that will be detailed in your welcome email.

Please note: If you do not log into your new ProtectMyID account within six months of receiving the welcome email, Experian (which operates ProtectMyID) may delete your account, in which case you will need to re-enroll to receive the benefits of ProtectMyID coverage.

AAA Identity Champion Basic Members

If you were enrolled in the AAA Identity Champion Basic plan, you will be moved to the ProtectMyID Essential plan (included with AAA Membership at no additional cost). On the Essential plan, you will no longer have dark web or social media monitoring. Instead, you will have Experian® credit monitoring with email alerts, fraud resolution services, and lost wallet assistance—all at no additional cost with AAA Membership.

AAA Identity Champion Protect and Complete Members

If you were enrolled in the AAA Identity Champion Protect or Complete plans, you will transition to the ProtectMyID Essential plan, included at no additional cost with your AAA Membership. You will have the opportunity to upgrade to either the ProtectMyID Deluxe or Platinum plans, which include expanded features. Note that secure cloud storage will be phased out. If you have data stored in an IDChampion Cloud account, please transfer it to an alternative storage solution before June 1, 2024. For guidance on securely backing up data to a new storage location, please click here.

Why is AAA Identity Champion becoming ProtectMyID?

The transition to ProtectMyID will enable AAA to expand our range of identity protection services, adding even more value to your AAA Membership.

How is ProtectMyID different from AAA Identity Champion?

All Identity Champion Members will automatically have access to the ProtectMyID Essential plan, which is offered at no additional cost with AAA Membership. Your benefits under the ProtectMyID Essential plan include:

  • Credit monitoring from Experian®
  • Lost Wallet Protection
  • Fraud Resolution Support
  • Up to $10,000 in Identity Theft Insurance¹ (AAA Premier Members only)

If you were enrolled in the Identity Champion Basic plan, the change means you will no longer have dark web or social media monitoring. But, you will have Experian credit monitoring with email alerts, fraud resolution services, and lost wallet assistance. 

If you were enrolled in upgraded Identity Champion Protect and Complete plans you may choose to upgrade your plan for equivalent coverage with ProtectMyID. A Deluxe or Platinum ProtectMyID plan allows you to add benefits similar to your Identity Champion plan, such as: 

  • Additional identity theft insurance¹
  • Dark web, social media, and child identity monitoring
  • 3-bureau credit monitoring
  • Credit lock feature 

Please note that IDChampion Cloud storage is not offered as part of ProtectMyID and will be terminating as of June 1, 2024. Please see information below and follow these instructions for transferring any content you have stored in your IDChampion Cloud account.

What if I still have time left on my annual AAA Identity Champion subscription?

If you prepaid for an annual plan, you will receive a prorated refund for the remaining duration of your annual subscription. The check will be mailed to your address on file.

How do I cancel my identity protection?

If you wish to cancel your identity protection services, after the transition to ProtectMyID, please call 1-877-440-6943

How is my data being protected during the transition to ProtectMyID?

Experian continues to provide monitoring services for all plans. Only the name and some of the plan features have been updated. Therefore, there is no need to reenter enrollment data. Simply create a secure login for ProtectMyID, and an updated plan will be assigned to your account. For further details on data privacy, please refer to the Protect MyID Privacy Policy

Will the fees for the Protect or Complete Identity Champion plan change after the transition to ProtectMyID?

Yes, fees and benefits are slightly different with ProtectMyID. Depending on your plan selection, there may be a cost savings. You will automatically have access to the ProtectMyID Essential plan and will not be charged any extra fees for this plan because it’s offered at no additional cost with AAA Membership. You may choose to upgrade to a Deluxe or Platinum ProtectMyID plan to add benefits similar to what you had with AAA Identity Champion Protect or Complete plans, such as additional identity theft insurance¹, dark web, social media, and child identity monitoring, 3-bureau credit monitoring, and Experian CreditLock™.

If I have data stored in my IDChampion Cloud account, what’s the most convenient way to transfer to a new storage solution?

Follow these instructions before June 1, 2024, to securely transfer data from one storage solution to another.

How long will data stored in my IDChampion Cloud account be accessible?

Please transfer any data from your IDChampion Cloud account before June 1, 2024. As of June 1, 2024, all data previously stored in IDChampion Cloud accounts will no longer be accessible.
