Yes, AAA is happy to tow your vehicle to your home, a garage, or the repair shop of your choice. AAA will only tow a vehicle once per breakdown; so if you request a second tow on the same day, we charge a towing fee.

AAA Members get four roadside assistance events per year. The maximum towing distance depends on your plan: 

• AAA Classic: Tow of up to five miles or to the closest AAA Auto Repair shop
• AAA Plus: Up to 100 miles per tow
• AAA Premier: One tow of up to 200 miles; remaining tows of up to 100 miles

If you exceed your included towing distance, additional towing is available for a fee that varies by location. 

AAA does not currently schedule tows in advance.

AAA Membership includes towing. 

You get up to four roadside requests per year. Each Membership plan includes a specific towing limit. If you exceed that limit, you may pay for additional towing, which varies by location. Call 800-222-4357 for a quote if you expect to exceed your towing limit. 

If you are not a AAA Member, instant roadside assistance is only available by phone when you purchase Classic Membership and pay a $75 fee.¹ If you exceed the towing limit of five miles or to the closest repair shop, you may pay for additional towing, which varies by location. When you pay for a AAA Membership, it includes up to four roadside requests per Membership year. This means you get up to four tows. Tow distance varies by Membership plan and additional towing is available for a fee.

Other roadside assistance services—such as battery jump start, spare tire swap, and lockout service—also count as roadside events. If you called for a battery jump start, for example, you would use up one of your roadside requests.

Every time your AAA Membership renews, it resets back to four roadside events.

Yes, your AAA Membership includes towing up to four times per Membership year. Maximum towing distance varies by plan and additional towing is available for a fee.

Your spouse can get towed if they are a AAA Member or are riding with someone who has a AAA Membership. AAA Membership covers one primary Member. That primary Member can add up to five household Members to receive AAA Membership at a reduced cost. Each household Member gets their own four roadside events. They can request roadside assistance without the primary Member being present. When requesting roadside assistance, someone on the scene must have a AAA Membership. 

Yes. Your AAA Membership covers you, not the vehicle. So whether you’re the driver or passenger in your own vehicle or a rental, you’re covered.
