AAA Montana Membership Plans

Why should you consider AAA Membership in Montana?

In 1925, AAA Mountain West—initially serving Alaska, Montana, and Wyoming—opened in Helena, Montana, and has offered the state legendary roadside assistance ever since.

In fact, AAA has been a trusted ally to drivers like you for more than 100 years. And when the nation’s drivers experienced pesky breakdowns, AAA launched its Approved Auto Repair program in 1975, offering Montana Members a comprehensive list of vetted auto service and maintenance repair shops that meet high-scoring AAA standards.

Coupled with price breaks on reliable auto insurance and sweet perks on hotels and entertainment discounts, AAA offers its Members so much more. See why more than 50 million Members nationwide rely on AAA when you sign up for AAA Membership in Montana.

Did You Know … ? Montana began issuing license numbers in 1913, to be displayed on the front and rear of the vehicle. Since the state wasn’t providing license plates yet—those would come in 1914—drivers jotted their license number on a piece of leather (or other material) and attached it to their vehicle. And during World War II, there was a steel shortage, so license plates were made of pressed soybean fiberboard instead. But, there was a drawback: Critters like goats and mice loved snacking on the tasty soybean plates.
