Whitney is the Editor in Chief of Via. She has previously held editorial positions at KQED, East Bay Express, Hitfix/Uproxx, and Acoustic Guitar, Ukulele, and Strings magazines. When she’s not editing the award-winning stories withinVia, she's planning adventures where she can get outside and dig into a good book.
Experience
As Editor in Chief, Whitney manages the magazine’s editorial vision, budget, and hundreds of contributors. Whitney and her team produce articles about road trips in the West, maintaining your car, managing your home, protecting your identity, and more. Via is distributed on AAA’s website, in an e-newsletter, as a digital magazine, and in an annual print magazine.
In addition to her role at Via, Whitney is an expert on AAA Membership, working directly with the Membership team to ensure Members get the latest information on key benefits, such as discounts, travel perks, and free identity monitoring. She also leads the Member Testimonials program, which chronicles Members’ personal stories using AAA.
Education
Whitney received a B.S. in journalism with honors from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an M.F.A. in creative writing with honors from Mills College.
