AAA Roadside Assistance only provides lockout service. Our technicians help unlock your vehicle if you left your keys inside. Services offered by locksmith companies (not AAA) vary but may include:

Automotive lockout service, when a locksmith unlocks your car door to regain access.
Key programming of transponder keys, smart keys, and fobs for modern vehicles. Key programming syncs your key to your car’s security system, so you can unlock (and lock) your doors.
Key cutting and duplication, if you need to duplicate your existing keys or create new ones.
Ignition repair and replacement, if your car’s ignition switch is faulty or damaged and needs repair or replacement.
Broken key extraction for when you break a key in the lock.

Locksmith reimbursement varies by AAA Membership plan.

Car lockout service is included with all AAA Membership plans. Your Membership also comes with other lockout benefits, like locksmith reimbursement and towing.

AAA Members get four roadside assistance events per year; lockout service counts as a roadside event.

If you use a third-party locksmith to regain access to your car or home (Premier Members only), AAA may reimburse you for the locksmith’s fee. The reimbursement amount varies by plan.

AAA Classic: $50 (vehicle only)

AAA Plus: $100 (vehicle only)

AAA Premier: $150 (vehicle and home)

AAA does not provide locksmith services. AAA Members are eligible for locksmith reimbursement, depending on their Membership level. If you qualify, submit a locksmith reimbursement request.

AAA does not provide locksmith services. However, AAA Premier Members are covered for up to $150 in locksmith reimbursement expenses when they hire a locksmith to unlock their home or vehicle.
