What are the benefits of using AAA for my Vehicle Title and Registration needs?

AAA has been the first name in reliability and value for more than 100 years. In addition to providing helpful, friendly staff, AAA Vehicle Title and Registration is open during most ADOT/MVD furlough closure dates, offers evening hours, and is conveniently located inside select local AAA Arizona offices. Best of all, there are no lines.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk-ins are welcome, and wait times (if any) are typically very short.

Are there additional fees for using AAA Vehicle Title and Registration services?

Not for AAA Members. ADOT/MVD Authorized Third Party Providers typically charge a convenience fee. As a benefit of Membership, AAA Members aren’t charged a convenience fee. Non-members are still required to pay these additional fees.

Is Membership required to use AAA Vehicle Title and Registration services?

No. However, fees are waived for AAA Members, so it’s easy to see the value of Membership.

Is my AAA Membership Card enough identification for title and registration transactions?

No. To ensure the security of your information, you will be required to provide a legal photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s license.

What is an Authorized Third Party Provider?

It is a company or business that is contracted and authorized by the State of Arizona to process specific Arizona Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Division (ADOT/MVD) transactions.

Does AAA only issue titles and registrations?

No. We offer a wide variety of services including, but not limited to:

  • Special and Personalized Plates
  • Mobile Home and Trailer Titles and Registrations
  • Disability Plates and Placards
  • Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Decals
  • Off Road All Terrain Vehicle and Cycle (ATV/ATC) Titles and Registrations
  • Golf Cart Titles and Registrations
  • Classic Car Registration and Historic Plates
  • Motor Vehicle Records

How long will it take to receive my Arizona title, registration, and license plate if I use AAA Arizona?

You will receive a temporary registration at the time of visit. Any other credentials will be mailed by ADOT MVD to your resident address within 2-3 weeks of service.

Can I renew my license plate if the registration is from another state?

As an Authorized Third Party Provider for the State of Arizona, we are only able to process Arizona transactions.

I just moved to Arizona. Can you switch my out-of-state title and registration to Arizona?

Yes. We will typically need the out-of-state Certificate of Title (unless the title is being held by the out-of-state lien holder, then we will need the most recent registration) and an Arizona Emissions Certificate, if applicable. Stop by any AAA Arizona office with Vehicle Title and Registration services and we will be happy to get you started.

How do I know if I need an emissions test, and can AAA Arizona complete the test?

Depending on where you reside and/or commute within Arizona, an emissions test might be needed if the vehicle is five years or older, excluding vehicles made in 1966 or earlier. For more details, please visit the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. www.myazcar.com

Can you register my boat?

In Arizona, watercraft registrations are processed through the Arizona Game and Fish Department. However, AAA can issue the title and registration for the boat trailer.

If I have vehicles that are titled in the name of my company, can AAA still help me?

Yes. The Arizona Motor Vehicle Division requires you bring something with you that indicates you are authorized to sign for the company, such as a business card, a credit card with your name and company name, a print out of the Arizona Corporation Commission that lists your name with the company, etc. If your company has multiple vehicles, consider adding your vehicles to a fleet. It’s easier than you might realize to have all your vehicles renewed at the same time. Contact our Commercial/Fleet Services team for more help with this.

How do I make sure my vehicle insurance is valid in Arizona?

Since liability requirements vary by state, and not all insurance companies are authorized to provide coverage in Arizona, a local AAA Insurance agent can review your policy and make sure you’re covered. We have insurance agents at all AAA Arizona offices with Vehicle Title and Registration services, or call toll-free 1-866-478-2541.

Can I get my Arizona Driver’s License at AAA Arizona?

The Arizona Driver’s License is not a service that we can provide at this time. Please visit the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division if you’re in need of a license.

Can I get an International Driving Permit at AAA Arizona?

Yes. If you’re planning to travel overseas and drive a vehicle, you can get an International Driving Permit (IDP) at any AAA Arizona office. However, an IDP is not a substitution for an Arizona Driver’s License.
