AAA Roadside Assistance

Roadside assistance is a service that helps drivers when their vehicle breaks down. Roadside assistance includes towing, battery jump start, spare tire swap, and more. View our AAA Membership Plans for more details. 

AAA offers three roadside assistance Membership plans. Each plan comes with 24/7 roadside service across the U.S. and Canada. Membership covers one Member in any car, whether you’re the driver or the passenger, and includes up to four roadside service calls a year. Plus, you do not need AAA Auto Insurance to become a Member. 

If you do not have AAA Membership and need immediate roadside assistance, call 800-222-4357. Roadside benefits are available instantly over the phone for $75, plus the cost of a Classic Membership plan. Or, buy a Membership online and your roadside benefits will be available 48 hours after purchase.

Yes, AAA Membership includes towing. Towing distances vary by plan. 

If you're a Member, roadside services are included in your Membership plan. We offer three different Membership plans, starting at less than $6 a month. (Memberships are charged annually.) 

After paying an annual Membership fee, you are covered for up to four roadside assistance events a year, whether you’re the driver or a passenger. Membership cost and towing distance vary, depending on your plan.

No. Your AAA Roadside Membership is not part of your auto insurance policy. Your insurance premium will not go up if you make a roadside request. If you’re a Member, make sure you use roadside assistance through your AAA Membership and not through your insurance policy.

Yes, if you are present at the scene, you can use your AAA Membership benefits for your car or anybody else’s car. 

AAA Roadside Assistance is a service included with AAA Membership. AAA Members receive up to four service calls each year. You can request roadside assistance online, by calling 800-222-4357, or through the AAA Mobile app. We’ll then dispatch a roadside technician to your location. While you’re waiting, you can use our mobile app to track your roadside technician’s location.

Yes, AAA Roadside Assistance is available 24/7. 

AAA Members can request up to four service calls per year for towing, battery, lockout assistance, and other included roadside services. Additional requests cost extra.

If you don’t have your AAA Membership Card, download our app and add your digital Membership card to your digital wallet. You can also call 800-222-4357 to confirm your Membership status. 

Yes. If you are not a Member, you can request roadside assistance by calling 800-222-4357. There will be an additional fee of $75, plus the cost of your selected Membership plan, for immediate roadside assistance. Typically, roadside assistance benefits aren’t available until 48 hours after purchasing AAA Membership online.

Yes. If you’re a Member you can request roadside assistance anytime, anywhere. If you’re not a Member, you can call and purchase a Membership (in addition to a $75 fee) over the phone to receive roadside help immediately.

Yes. AAA Membership can be used on any car, whether you are the driver or the passenger. So if you’re traveling with a friend and their car breaks down, you can call AAA for a tow. Keep in mind that the Member must be present at the scene of the request. Benefits only cover the Membership holder.

Yes, you can add household Members, including your spouse or teenager, to your plan at a reduced rate. Additional household Members will get their own Membership card and can request roadside assistance if you’re not with them.
